Our Story
Hello! Jess (& Andrew) Lane here!
Nature’s Marrow began when Andrew and I met at the beginning of March 2020, right before COVID. I just started at Victorian Seasons Flower Co. in January & was thrilled to embark on my dream career as a professional Artist making flower preservation art.
Andrew inspired me to continue doing projects at home - such as making candles, jewelry, painting, other shadowbox work, wall art, etc. He came up with the beautiful name! However, as I worked full-time at VSFC, I started to take my day job more seriously.
Fast forward 3.5 years.. I was the store Manager of VSFC and falling more in love with it every day. Andrew and I were engaged, and I was excitedly envisioning running the store as my own some day! However, that day came sooner than we anticipated.
Unfortunately, due to a few unforeseen circumstances, the Owners of VSFC had decided to close down permanently and said that 2023 would be their last year. A month before our wedding, I was torn between buying the business, or choosing to push it aside for the moment and start a new as Nature’s Marrow when the time is right.
Even though I have always been passionate about nature, flower preservation, and art, I wouldn’t be where I am today without meeting Jolynn Truesdale, the original artist and creator of Victorian Seasons. Jennifer Meilinger, my good friend, former boss, and daughter of Jolynn. Jennifer’s son, Alex Meilinger, who introduced us all. And of course, my loving, supportive Husband, Andrew, who pushes me and helps me when I need it most.
I’m so genuinely grateful to have had the avenue to master this craft and spend some of my happiest moments during that amazing portion of my life. It’s all lead to this - a new chapter for all of us!!
